Black Spout Wood Walk

First of all, you may wish to take a saunter through light woodland to a delightful waterfall. Additionally, for those who might appreciate a bigger stretch, the continuing trail to Edradour Distillery takes you further uphill. Well-trodden paths pass through more, pleasant, dappled forestry to the wee hamlet of Edradour. Additionally, the Distillery tour offers a fascinating insight into local whisky production and the downhill walk, enjoying stunning views, along the high road overlooking Pitlochry .

Ben Vrackie, Beallach Walk, Ben y Ghlo and Craigower Hill. Fabulously scenic hillwalks of varying length and degree of challenge. All enjoy stunning panoramic views over the Tummel Valley and for many miles beyond.

Walks just Outside Pitlochry

The Pass of Killiecrankie. Most notably home to Highland Fling – Pitlochry’s Bungee Jump Company, The Pass of Killiecrankie is an impressive , tree-lined gorge which is simply breathtaking in Autumn, but beautiful all year around.

Queens View. A must-visit place during Scotland holidays in the Pitlochry area. Located just 6 miles from Pitlochry. The panoramic view has been described as “spine-tingling” and is probably one of the most famous vistas in Scotland.

Allean Forest Walk. Near to Queen’s View. A steady uphill walk, passing an abandoned crofting farmstead enroute. Interestingly, one of the buildings has been re-constituted to give a fascinating insight into the realities of living in this area in days gone by. Wonderful views over Loch Tummel towards Schiehallion on the horizon.

Blair Atholl, with Blair Castle, visitor centre and country life museum, working watermill and Glen Tilt walks. There is plenty enough to spend a whole day exploring in this delightful hamlet. Just a few miles from Pitlochry.

Glen Lyon is often described as the most beautiful Glen in Scotland. Please take a trip along this beautiful landscape during you Pitlochry holiday. We recommend you drive onwards to Loch Tay and Kenmore, then on to Aberfeldy, the Spirit of Wood, Dewars Distillery and the Highland Chocolatier. This makes for a truly fabulous day out.

Newtonmore and Kingussie

It’s best to set aside a day for visiting Newtonmore and Kingussie in order to have enough time to experince their delights. Don’t miss the Highland Wildlife Park in Kingussie and Highland Folk Museum in Newtonmore. We recommend visitng these morning and afternoon to be free by 4pm for Working Sheepdogs at Kncraig, followed by tea at Loch Insch Watersports Centre, hopefully catching a spectacular sunset over the head of Loch Insch. Both Working Sheepdogs and Loch Insch Sports Centre are located in Kincraig.
