Stay, Dine, Walk
As a genuinely dog friendly hotel Pitlochry, it is natural that our canine visitors are welcomed as guests. Accordingly we like to know their names and likes and dislikes. They are welcome in both lounges and we have designated dining areas where guests are most welcome to be accompanied by their pet at mealtimes. Worthy of note is the park just 2 minutes walk across the road where convenience comes courtesy of several red doggy bins. Additionally, there are over 40 miles of waymarked trails safe swimming and ball-chasing areas leading from our doorstep.

Pitlochry is idyllic and has a perfect location at the very centre of Scotland. It sits at the heart of endless miles of scenic walks, along every type of terrain. There are places for safe swimming and plenty of dog friendly bars and cafes to provide refreshment along the way.
Here's a link to a YouTube Video from SEESCOTLAND: Ben Vrackie offers a moderate hike, taking around 3-4 hours from our door. The initial climb, to a small Lochan 2/3 of the way up, is steady and fine for dogs (and humans!) that are moderatelty fit. Thereafter, the incline steepens, but the views are worth the effort. On a clear day, you can see the summit of Ben Nevis
A perfect riverside walk through mature forest and leading to a stunning waterfall. Salmon may be seen jumping the falls late October onwards. Paths are well formed and the forestry boasts some of Scotland's tallest trees. Plenty of interest for people and pooches, alike.

Rosemount Hotel Pitlochry Offers a Genuine welcome to Pets
Pets are treated as guests at Rosemount Hotel. They may sit with their owners at mealtimes, in dedicated pet friendly dining areas. All dogs guests are greeted with treats, a high-five and a map of fabulous walks in the Pitlochry area.
All doggy guests know where our treat tin is, so be prepared to be dragged through the front door when you return from a walk and even when you return for a subsequent visit. These honeys never forget! They all remember us as a dog friendly hotel Pitlochry! Our frontline staff are carefully selected for their genuine fondness of dogs and they really love making a fuss of our pooch-like guests.
We sometimes offer an informal short-spell dog-sitting service because we ask that dogs are not left unaccompanied on the premises, unless very happy to be in their cage. In these circumstances, we can pop in to check on them if requested. Alternatively, they are very welcome to sit behind Reception with us on their bed, if they are comfortable to do this. Many are happy to sit in the car while their folks visit the theatre or take a distillery tour. Please note, however, that during the day, the sun passes directly across the property so shade-providing shadows don't stay still for long. Alternatively, if they are happy in a cage, they will snuggle down in their crate in their room.
Dog washing facilities are being installed this year. We don't wish to impart a vision of anything overtly sophisticated. It'll just be a newly installed standpipe and convenient hose with oodles of towels on hand. No worries, therefore, about Fido being clean and dry before coming into the hotel.
