Click here to book accommodation The trout season opens in March, is excellent in April May and June on the rivers and on many of the smaller lochs. Later in the season early morning and late evening provide the best chances of success during hot weather. Come September, the waters start to cool again and during the last few weeks of the season daytime rises again occur. Lochs Rannoch, Dunalastair and Faskally contain a variety of species including enormous brown trout and pike. There are numerous smaller rivers full of brown trout and of course the River Tummel between Pitlochry and its confluence with the River Tay is a well-famed trout and grayling water that attracts many international anglers each season. |
